In line with other clubs throughout the West Wales Cricket Association, the Cowbridge side was badly hit by the changes in the examination timetable for GCSEs. This was exacerbated by the national reduction in playing members of all ages. Even with cancellation of matches due to weather Cowbridge could not field a West Wales side for several weeks at the beginning of the season and were therefore disqualified and compelled to resign from the league, as were other sides.
It is vital for the club as a whole, and also the league, that new members are recruited for this side as it acts as a feeder for juniors to enter adult cricket, and the committee is actively considering how best to tackle the problem.
Support of any nature to recover the side would be immensely appreciated.
