COWBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB

2017 Golf Day Report

As in 2016, Cowbridge Cricket Club's Annual Golf Day was blessed with fine weather, very little wind and the Lakes Course at the Vale Resort in excellent condition.

Staged each year to help raise funds for the club, the event attracted 24 teams of four players who assembled at the Vale Resort on Thursday 29th June with keen competition taking place throughout the afternoon following a 1pm start.

Cowbridge Cricket Club sincerely thanks the Vale Resort for organising the day and remains truly thankful for the great generosity of the Leeke family. We are most grateful also to Andrew Brace and his company, Press Metal UK Ltd, for their continued support of this event and of the club.

During the day, competitions took place both for individual and team awards which were calculated using the Stableford scoring system with full handicap allowance. Each team's score was determined by adding up the best individual score over the first six holes, the best two scores on the next six and the best three scores over the final six holes.

Individual results (handicap in brackets)

1st) Jon Roberts (3) with 41 points, winning on count back (20 points over last 9)

2nd) Gareth Cozens (18) with 41 points (19 points last 9)

3rd) Philip Payne (18) with 33 points on count back (17 points last 9)

4th) Richard Bevington (19) with 33 points (14 points last 9)
